ADULT JIU-JITSU

Arte Suave — The Gentle Art

Brazilian (Gracie) Jiu-Jitsu is often called Arte Suave, or “the gentle art,” because it emphasizes technique, leverage, and control over size and strength. This approach allows practitioners of all ages and athletic backgrounds to train safely and effectively.

In our Adult Jiu-Jitsu program, students learn how to:

  • Use proper technique and body mechanics to overcome larger or stronger opponents

  • Train with controlled drilling and live sparring, minimizing injury while building real skill

  • Apply jiu-jitsu in both real-world self-defense and sport jiu-jitsu settings

  • Develop confidence, discipline, and respect through consistent training and mentorship

While Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is known as the “gentle art,” it is still a challenging and physically demanding martial art. “Gentle” does not mean easy—it reflects a philosophy rooted in efficiency, control, and intelligent use of force.

Our adult classes are designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, providing a supportive environment where students can grow on and off the mats.
